How to prepare for a solar panel installation

• Our experts will prepare by ensuring your home Is ideally south-facing. However, if you don’t have a south-facing home do not fret! If an installation on your roof is not applicable or desired our installers are happy to help mount solar on the ground. Ground-mounted solar panels are typically installed in a sunny south-facing path in a garden.
  
  
• We will then look to survey your home, this is to ensure that your roof is suitable and structurally sound, as well as to understand how your home's electrical system will work in accordance with PV installations.
  
  
• Once we figure out the best option for you, we will book you in on your preferred date to have your solar panels installed.

How does a solar panel installation take place?

Our experts will attend on your preferred installation date and set up scaffolding to ensure your installation can be carried out on your roof safely.

The next step will then be to set up the solar mounting system, this will support the base of the solar panels and ensures they are tilted at an angle of between 18 – 36 degrees to ensure the panels receive the maximum amount of sun.

The solar panels will then be installed onto the mount, and everything is then tightened up to ensure the stability of your solar panel structure.

We will then look to wire you’re your solar panels into your electrical system. In your home, the direct current from the solar panels comes in through a cable into an inverter box which converts the direct current to alternating current which is safer for your home. From here the power is passed around the house, and you will be able to see on your generation meter how much power your solar panels have created.
